Trail Information
S-Tree is not a trail system like White Sulfur OHV Trail at Cave Run Lake. S-Tree is actually the campground where the different trailheads are located. The OHV trails are listed individually on the forest service website and not as one complete riding area. You can get a list of all OHV Trails in the London District here. However, that page lists all in the area and are not all located at the S-Tree site. The following are the trails from that list located at the S-Tree Campground trailhead:
[My confidence in this list is pretty low, to be honest. I’ve included pictures of the trail maps located at the trailhead below, which don’t correspond to any naming or numbering online, of course. Your guess is as good as mine…]
Another tip about sorting through the information on the OHV trails at S-Tree (and neighboring Turkey Foot), the Sheltowee Trace Trail is always denoted as #100 on any Daniel Boone National Forest website, map, or publication. A few of the OHV trails are incorporated into the Sheltowee Trace Trail and share that nomenclature, which makes things more confusing. The Sheltowee is a linear trail, continuous from just northeast of Morehead to the southern border of Big South Fork NRRA in Scott County TN. Just be aware that only the sections specifically designated by the Forest Service are able to be ridden by OHV vehicles.
The DBNF’s segmented description of the trails makes it seem like the mileage of trails that are accessible by non-licensed off-road vehicles is very limited. Though it’s not as limited as the wording sounds, most of the riding at S-Tree is out-and-back.
As with almost all trails in the Daniel Boone National Forest, the designated OHV trails at S-Tree are limited to 50” and under.
Though the trails are designated for 50” and under, a lot of the trail flows like motorcycle singletrack.
